This fine gentleman doesn’t have a name. He was a Winslow Township resident who served our country during WWII, but we have no idea who he was. His picture, along with many identified (and unidentified) men, was posted on Malfaro’s grocery store bulletin board, in Sicklerville, 74 years ago.
We have this photo (and 24 others) thanks to the donation of Louis Malfaro, whose parents owned that grocery store. By sharing his family’s history, we now have a great representation of the brave men from our area who fought for freedom against the Nazi threat.
These portraits will be part of a military history display in the Winslow History Center this fall. Hopefully by then we’ll have a name for this soldier.
